Apply now for the 1L Summer Associate Program (“SAP”) organized by the North Carolina Bar Association’s Minorities in the Profession Committee. SAP is “designed to provide corporate legal departments and major law firms in North Carolina with an inside track on recruiting some of North Carolina’s brightest and most talented law students of color.” Employers participating in recent years have included Womble Carlyle, Smith Anderson, Progress Energy, Duke Energy and Fresh Market. Applicants are required to submit a resume, a writing sample that consists of a memorandum of law, a statement as to how the student can further diversity of the North Carolina State Bar, and a transcript of first-semester grades.
