While recent Java vulnerabilities have been patched, new vulnerabilities continue to pop up. On all laptops and home desktops, we recommend that you update to the latest Java version (using the updater or going to http://java.com) and then DISABLE Java in your Web browser. If you have the latest version, you can disable browser plug-in(s) by going to the Java Control Panel and then clicking on the Security tab. Uncheck “Enable Java content in the browser” and click OK. If you run into a trusted Web page that requires Java you can re-enable it in the Control Panel.
